McDonald's is finally launching its highly anticipated 'Menu Heist' range, bringing popular burgers and bagels from around the world to Australian fans. The new limited-edition menu will land in stores nationwide from May 27 and features products inspired by McDonald's menus in Japan, Canada, the UK, and the US.
What's in the Menu Heist Range?
The line-up includes a Teriyaki Chicken Burger and Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets inspired by Japanese flavours, a Canadian-style Bacon 'N Egg Bagel with hollandaise sauce, a UK-inspired Philly Cheese Stack burger, and a new American-inspired 'Gold Sauce' dipping sauce. The Teriyaki Chicken Burger features a chicken breast fillet coated in sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce with lettuce and mayonnaise inside a soft bun. The Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets offer a more heavily seasoned version of the classic menu item. Breakfast fans can order the Benny-Style Bacon 'N Egg Bagel, which combines bacon, egg, cheese, and hollandaise sauce on a toasted bagel, available as part of the extended breakfast menu until 11:30am. The Philly Cheese Stack includes two beef patties, grilled and crispy onions, three slices of cheese, cheese sauce, and pickles inside a toasted bun.
Why Now?
The launch comes after years of Aussies begging McDonald's to bring its world-famous menu items Down Under. Over the years, customers have regularly flooded social media with requests for specific products. 'Australia needs the bagels immediately,' one person said after seeing the Canadian breakfast item. 'I've wanted to try the Japanese teriyaki burger for years,' a second revealed. 'Can Macca's Australia please start doing more overseas menu items?' another wrote. The international-inspired menu reflects growing interest in global fast-food culture, with many customers increasingly curious about regional menu differences around the world. Japan's McDonald's menu has developed a strong reputation for its unique flavour combinations and seasonal specials, while North American breakfast items have long attracted devoted fans.
Availability
McDonald's Australia marketing director Amanda Nakad said the range was inspired by some of the company's most-loved international menu items. 'For the first time, Menu Heist brings together some of the most loved menu items from around the world, giving Aussies the chance to try them right here at home,' she said. The Menu Heist range will be available across Australia for a limited time through drive-thru, front counter, McDelivery, and the MyMacca's app.
