Rylan Clark was left reacting in shock after a BBC Radio 2 co-star was injured in an awkward studio mishap, even suggesting she 'should claim' afterwards.
The television and radio presenter interrupted the pair's programme on Saturday, May 23, to explain what had unfolded after Sally Boazman appeared to injure herself while rushing around the studio.
Explaining the incident to listeners, Rylan said: 'Well, we need to talk about what's just happened here. So, Sally, with about 20 seconds left on that trail, just went. Oh, I need another piece of paper. I need something else.'
He continued by describing how Sally attempted to get through the studio's automatic doors in a hurry. Rylan explained: 'I said that's all right, go on, you've got time, go and get it. The automatic doors here in the studio, you just press the button and the door will open.'
However, things did not quite go to plan. The former X Factor star said: 'What Sally did, she pressed the button and then pulled the door, which meant it auto stops. It stopped. It went back. It closed again. She then got caught in between the door and the door frame.'
Sally then told listeners: 'That really hurt.' She later added: 'I'm really hurting, it bashed me from either side.' Reacting to the incident, Rylan joked: 'I think you should have a claim up.'
Rylan Misses Out on Strictly Role
It comes as the TV presenter recently revealed he had missed out on a role presenting Strictly Come Dancing, admitting 'it wasn't my time sadly'.
The 37-year-old shared a tongue-in-cheek video of himself pretending to cry after it was announced that former professional dancer Johannes Radebe, comedian Josh Widdicombe and presenter Emma Willis would front the BBC dancing competition from its 2026 series.
Writing on Instagram, Rylan said: 'Just wanted to say as it was reported I was in the race for Strictly, the biggest congrats to my Emma and equal congrats to Johannes and Josh. You're all going to have the best time. Made up for yous. This wasn't my time sadly but am extremely grateful to even have been considered. I'm taking the news really well (see next slide) but genuinely looking forward to the new series with you three.'
He later urged fans to keep the focus positive, adding in the comments section: 'Let's keep this what it is. A genuine happiness for the three of them.'
Former Strictly presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced their departure from the programme in October 2025, also praised their successors, with Daly describing them as 'the ultimate trio', and Winkleman calling them 'magnificent'.
