Gateacre Restaurant Sano Nepal Earns Perfect Reviews

Gateacre's Sano Nepal, an Asian restaurant that opened on February 8, has already garnered a perfect five-star rating on Google Reviews. Located on Gateacre Brow in Gateacre Village, the restaurant has welcomed customers back "four or five times" since its debut.

Owner's Vision for Authentic Nepalese Cuisine

The restaurant is operated by Mohan Sherchan, whose family runs the Jomsom Nepalese Restaurant on Dovedale Road in Mossley Hill. The 34-year-old told the ECHO he wanted "another challenge" and decided to set up the latest venture. "It's a Nepalese authentic restaurant. The menu is little bit different because I don't want to offer same food on two different menus. We want to be stand as an independent business. I always like the concept of being unique," he said.

Mohan moved to Liverpool 20 years ago at the age of 13 and has remained ever since. "For me it was a little bit difficult because I came in at such a young age, and with the culture and everything, it was totally different. But right now I feel at home. Liverpool is home. I'm so used to this place. I love Liverpool and I love people in Liverpool. That's why I always think I should at least share our culture, our food as well. I think that's the whole point of why I open Sano Nepal as well. To share our experience, I mean like to share our culture and food and all," he added.

Menu and Customer Feedback

Customers can expect a selection of Nepalese dishes, prepared using traditional Himalayan cooking techniques and authentic ingredients. The menu features curries, steamed dumplings known as Momos, and a variety of Nepalese appetisers, which have been well-received. Speaking about the positive feedback, Mohan said: "It's just really good. We genuinely want people to come and enjoy, and experience the food, experience our hospitality. So we give our absolute hundred percent to make sure that our customers experience the best. Getting the review feedback always pushes me to do something better more. That's what drives me."

He expressed gratitude to the local community: "We just want to say thank you to the local community. They really welcome us and then we are looking forward to welcoming them as well. There's so many people [who have] come in a few times, four or five times. They always like supported us."
