Holidaymakers are praising Saltburn-by-the-Sea for its affordability. The Victorian coastal town provides scenic views and traditional charm, making it ideal for families. Holiday home site Sykes awarded it as one of the cheapest towns to stay in across the country.

The beach remains the town's biggest attraction, perfect for long walks, paddling, surfing, or simply relaxing with fish and chips overlooking the sea. Saltburn Pier stretches proudly into the North Sea and boasts breathtaking coastal views throughout the year. Visitors can ride the historic Saltburn Cliff Tramway, one of the oldest water-balanced cliff lifts in Britain. At the top, scenic clifftop walks and photo opportunities await. Food lovers can enjoy fresh seafood at local favourites like The Seaview Restaurant, while numerous cafes dot the town.

  • Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Redcar & Cleveland: A Victorian coastal gem with a historic cliff tramway, a proud pier, and great surf.
  • Haworth, West Yorkshire: Brontë country with cobbled streets, moorland walks, the Parsonage Museum, and a heritage railway.
  • Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire: A quiet traditional seaside town with a sandy beach, promenade, and Hornsea Mere.
  • Staithes, North Yorkshire: A picturesque fishing village with narrow streets, cosy pubs, and the North York Moors.
  • Thirsk, North Yorkshire: A market town between two national parks, offering race days, farm visits, and a cinema.
