Newcastle United have sent a fresh message to Manchester United and other Premier League rivals regarding Sandro Tonali's future by featuring the Italian midfielder prominently in the launch of their new 2026/27 home kit. The club unveiled their barcode-style shirt this morning, with Tonali posing alongside captain Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Nick Woltemade, Dan Burn, Harvey Barnes, and Malick Thiaw.
Tonali's Future at St James' Park
The 25-year-old Italian international has been strongly linked with moves to Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal. Despite the speculation, Newcastle have remained firm in their stance, insisting that any interested club must meet their £100 million valuation to prise the former AC Milan schemer away from St James' Park. Manchester United, in particular, have been heavily linked with a move for Tonali, although any potential deal is believed to be dependent on Elliot Anderson's possible transfer to one of the Manchester rivals.
Kit Launch and Commercial Moves
Tonali's inclusion in the promotion pictures could be telling, though it is worth noting that Alexander Isak also featured in last year's kit launch before his subsequent exit. The new shirt was released without a new sponsor, but Newcastle are expected to announce new partners soon. The club's statement highlighted the design: "Our adidas home kit for the 2026/27 season has arrived, introducing a fresh, new take on the black‑and‑white stripes. This season’s shirt reimagines our classic look with a bold, disrupted stripe pattern. An energetic pop of colour around the crew neck collar adds a fresh take on tradition. On the back of the neck sits a magpie, a subtle nod to our heritage and home."
The kit features adidas's Climacool+ technology for comfort, with the slogan "Home lives in black and white." Fans can also purchase stadium anthem jackets, warm-up shirts, and training t-shirts, with the latter priced at £25.
