The M53 motorway remains closed in both directions between junctions 4 and 5 following a serious accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.
Details of the Incident
Emergency services were called to the scene at Junction 4 at Clatterbridge, Wirral, at approximately 3:25 a.m. after reports of a serious collision. A full closure has been implemented on both carriageways between junctions 4 and 5 northbound and southbound.
Police Statement
Merseyside Police have stated that the M53 is likely to remain closed for several hours. Drivers are strongly advised to monitor traffic services before starting any journey to avoid delays.
