Mother Died in Cocaine-Fueled Crash with Son, Inquest Hears

A mother who was driving under the influence of cocaine died alongside her 15-month-old son after their car collided with a school bus in Cornwall, an inquest has heard.

Sian Goffin, 31, suffered fatal injuries in the crash in Mullion on October 14 last year. Her son, Jago Bawden, died three days later in Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Post-mortem examinations revealed both died from traumatic brain injuries, Cornwall Coroner’s Court was told.

Assistant Coroner Guy Davies ruled that the collision occurred because Ms Goffin lost control of her car while under the influence of cocaine. He said Jago died due to driver error by the driver of the car in which he was a passenger.
