Three Charged Over Attempted Arson at Persian Media Office in London

Three individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, have appeared in court charged in connection with an attempted arson attack on a Persian media company in north-west London. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when an ignited container was thrown towards the offices of Volant Media, the parent company of Iran International, in Wembley.

The Metropolitan Police reported that officers on patrol were alerted at around 8.30pm to the attack. The container landed in a car park, where the fire extinguished itself. No injuries were reported, and the suspects fled the scene in a black four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Oisin McGuinness, 21, Nathan Dunn, 19, and the 16-year-old boy appeared together at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, charged with arson with intent to endanger life. McGuinness faces an additional charge of dangerous driving in north-west London on the same date.

The court heard that the amount of damage caused to the Volant Media grounds is unknown. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution, but police determined there was no wider threat.

The three British nationals only spoke to confirm their personal details during the hearing. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded to local authority care with conditions. McGuinness and Dunn, both from Watford, Hertfordshire, were ordered to appear at the Old Bailey for a pre-trial preparation hearing on 15 May, alongside the youth's preliminary hearing.
