Masked Gang Storms Anfield Post Office in Failed Robbery

Three masked men armed with a suspected firearm stormed a post office in Anfield, Liverpool, on Wednesday morning, threatening a female staff member before fleeing empty-handed. The attempted robbery occurred at around 11am at the Breck Road branch, prompting a police manhunt.

Merseyside Police reported that the suspects, wearing all dark clothing and face coverings, entered the post office and attempted to steal cash. They left on foot towards a dark-coloured Audi parked in the nearby Home Bargains car park and drove away. The staff member was unharmed but left shaken.

Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: “An investigation is ongoing to find the people responsible and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Thankfully the staff member was unharmed, but she was understandably shaken by the incident. To threaten someone who is simply doing their job is appalling and will not be tolerated.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage as inquiries continue. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
