The Weeknd has launched the UK leg of his After Hours Til Dawn tour with a spectacular 40-foot gold statue, the largest fine-art commission ever created for a live concert production. The sculpture, designed by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, depicts a gold-chrome woman mid-step, evoking cyberpunk aesthetics from films like Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell.
Tour Kickoff in Manchester
The star, known offstage as Abel Tesfaye, performed a massive show at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The set list spans over two hours and includes the monumental statue alongside sprawling golden ruins, immersive visuals, flames, and lasers. After Manchester, The Weeknd returned to mainland Europe before heading to London for five shows at Wembley Stadium.
Record-Breaking Art Installation
According to the tour's production team, the 40-foot woman is the largest fine-art commission ever made for a live concert. Sorayama, renowned for his iconic pin-up and robot illustrations, created the piece specifically for this tour. The sculpture has been described as a highlight of the show, drawing fans from around the world.
