Emmerdale fans are convinced they know how the new Sugden family member is related to the iconic clan, following ITV's exciting announcement. West End star Casey Al-Shaqsy will join the cast as Serena Sugden, the newest addition to the legendary Sugden family.

Serena's arrival marks a new chapter for the Emmerdale dynasty, as the show strengthens the family's presence in the village. Casey began filming in April, with her character set to appear on screens later this month. Serena will be drawn into the aftermath of a traumatic situation, leaving her conflicted about her involvement. Her presence soon raises questions about her true motivations for settling in the Dales and where her loyalties lie.

Fan Theories
As viewers try to work out Serena's connection to the Sugden family, some believe she could be a long-lost child of legendary character Jack Sugden. Jack was one of the longest-standing characters in the ITV soap, linked to its agricultural roots. He was the father of the Sugden siblings, with his last on-screen appearance in 2008 before his character died. During his time in the Dales, Jack had an extensive love life, including several flings, extra-marital affairs, and multiple marriages. He married three times: to Pat Merrick, Sarah Sugden, and Diane Blackstock.
On Instagram, @jamie.mullen.3572 asked: "Who she gonna be jack sugdens other secret love child" while @maggie74__ agreed: "she could be Jack's daughter even though it would mean he cheated on Sarah again. Joe Sugden has been dead over 30 years so she can't be his." Meanwhile, on X, @dbella91 thinks Serena could be the daughter of Joe Sugden or Jack and wrote: "Only possible scenario another John Sugden situation, could be Joe or Jack daughter or at stretch their sister Peggy had kids before her death so could one of their offspring."
