Newsboy has identified Cher Monsieur as his Nap for Tuesday's racing, with the six-year-old set to compete in the 3.30 at Southwell. Trained by Neil Mulholland, the gelding has shown consistent improvement, finishing in the top two in his last four starts over hurdles and fences. On his chase debut at Uttoxeter last month, he ran on well over three miles to finish second, just one and a half lengths behind Jo Arengot Bey AA. He then stepped up again at Plumpton, winning by two and a half lengths over 2m3f under regular jockey Colin O'Farrell. Today's race over 2m4f appears another excellent opportunity for him to shine.
Rossa Raheen at Salisbury
At Salisbury, Newsboy fancies Rossa Raheen (4.53) to take the Everywhen Margadale Fillies' Handicap. Ollie Sangster's three-year-old caught the eye last time out when second at Newbury over today's distance of a mile and a quarter. Despite an unfavorable draw and being short of room two furlongs out, the daughter of Palace Pier finished strongly, beaten just a neck by Brighton View. With only a 1lb rise in the weights, a repeat of that performance should see her open her account.
