Aimee Osbourne, the rarely-seen eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, has spoken publicly for the first time in years about her father's declining health. In the documentary 'Ozzy: No Escape from Now', she described his final years as 'unbearable' due to the constant pain he suffered after a fall in 2019.
The 42-year-old musician, who chose to stay out of the spotlight unlike her siblings Kelly and Jack, said her father was 'traumatized' by the injury and subsequent surgery. She noted that he seemed 'checked out' following the operation, which left him hospitalized for three months and caused blood clots due to inactivity.
Sharon Osbourne revealed that the initial spinal surgery was 'overly aggressive', with a later surgeon removing metal plates and screws that had been unnecessarily inserted. 'They caused even more damage,' she said, adding that Ozzy was 'very depressed' after the ordeal.
Ozzy himself admitted in the documentary that he had contemplated suicide, but ultimately decided against it. The film and his memoir 'Last Rites' were completed just before his death on July 22, capturing his farewell show with Black Sabbath and the benefit concert 'Back to the Beginning' on July 5.
