Alison Hammond has marked her 51st birthday with a rare public display of affection from her boyfriend David Putman, who is 30. The couple, who have been together since 2023, shared a photo on Instagram Stories showing David towering over Alison as she hugged him. David captioned the image: 'Happy Birthday to my love.'
The This Morning presenter and the former masseur have faced scrutiny over their 21-year age gap, but Alison has previously dismissed the criticism. In an interview with Good Housekeeping, she said: 'I can see how, on paper, you’d notice the age difference. Yes, I’m 22 years older than he is, but if you saw us together, you’d understand.'
Speculation about an engagement arose when Alison wore a pink diamond ring on her left ring finger while hosting This Morning. She later laughed off the rumours on air, swapping the ring to another finger. However, she has hinted she would be open to marriage, saying: 'I wouldn’t say no. I might marry myself…'
Alison has never been married, though she was engaged to Noureddine Boufaied, the father of her son Aiden, from 2005 to 2014. She told Gyles Brandreth on his podcast: 'A lot of people think I’ve been married… I’ve never been married.'
