Beckham Reaches Out to Brooklyn in Father's Day Post

David Beckham appeared to extend an olive branch to his eldest son Brooklyn by including him in a Father's Day tribute on Instagram. The former England captain, 51, shared a series of family photos, including a throwback snap of himself with Brooklyn as a young child and another featuring all four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.

Alongside the pictures, David wrote: "Being a dad is my most important job - I love you all and thank you mummy @victoriabeckham for giving me our beautiful family. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads around the world." The post comes amid continued reports of a rift between David and Brooklyn, with the pair understood to have been estranged for more than a year.

Victoria Beckham's Tribute

Victoria Beckham also appeared to extend an olive branch to son Brooklyn as she included him in her own heartfelt Father's Day tribute to husband David. The fashion designer shared a throwback family snap to Instagram showing David surrounded by all four children, despite the ongoing rift that has reportedly left the family divided.

Alongside the picture, Victoria wrote: "David you truly are the best daddy. Your greatest achievement has always been our beautiful children and we love you so much. Happy Father's Day." The post comes during what is understood to be David's second Father's Day since relations with eldest son Brooklyn became strained.

Brooklyn's World Cup Advert

The emotional messages come days after Brooklyn caused a stir when he made light of the family drama in a World Cup-themed commercial for American brand DoorDash. The promotional clip shows 27-year-old Brooklyn relaxing at home while waiting for delivery. Addressing the camera, he quips: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It's not like I don't have tickets. Um, it's because … it's a long story."

Fans were stunned to see Brooklyn addressing the drama in an advert for the on-demand food delivery service. He has partnered with the company to hide World Cup tickets around American cities that fans can claim. According to Page Six, those close to David and Victoria were left upset by the perceived dig. The advert suggests Brooklyn is keen to avoid attending matches to steer clear of awkward family encounters.

Brooklyn's Public Statement

Earlier this year, Brooklyn took to social media with a statement addressing the rift. He wrote: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."

Insisting he did not want to reconcile, he claimed his parents had controlled narratives in the press, attempted to turn him against his wife Nicola ahead of their 2022 wedding, and that Victoria had branded him "evil" for wanting his grandmother at the top table. He also alleged his siblings were weaponised against him and that his mother hijacked his first dance with his wife, dancing "very inappropriately" on him in front of 500 wedding guests.

He concluded: "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
