Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez are set to star in an animated intergalactic romantic comedy titled Not Alone, produced by Illumination, the studio behind Minions and Despicable Me. Chalamet will voice an introverted rocket mechanic, while Gomez will play a brilliant astro-botanist developing the first plant-fuelled rocket.
Plot and Characters
Chalamet's character Joe lives a quiet life alone until he is paired with Gomez's Fran to prepare for the inaugural launch of her revolutionary rocket. Immediate sparks fly, but neither is adept at romance. Complications arise when three aliens—Dunk, Welly, and Shirm—take refuge in Joe's home. The aliens are voiced by Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan, and Jamie Demetriou respectively. They are fleeing a zealous law officer named Zandro, voiced by Brett Goldstein, and see Fran's rocket as their escape route.
Voice Cast and Crew
Additional voice cast includes Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris. The film is directed by Eric Guillon, co-director of Despicable Me 3, alongside Claire Dodgson and Jonathan Del Val. Not Alone is scheduled for release in UK and Irish cinemas in April 2027.
