Contestant Collapses on Dating Show After Rejection

A dramatic moment unfolded during a recent episode of the popular Australian series The Farmer Wants A Wife when one hopeful contestant suddenly collapsed on set. The incident occurred as farmer Jason revealed he wouldn't be selecting certain participants to continue their journey on the dating programme.

Among those was 31-year-old Bene, a customer service worker who had been hoping to capture Jason's affections on the show. Following initial dates with the women, the 37-year-old farmer offered gracious words while letting some of them down gently.

He said: 'I want to thank you guys for being a part of this. I really enjoyed meeting you, and I wish you luck.'

Initially, everything appeared fine, with Bene thanking Jason for the date and acknowledging he had made a 'good decision'. But the situation quickly deteriorated, reports the Daily Star.

As she leant in for a farewell embrace, Bene began to lose her balance, visibly becoming unwell, prompting TV host Natalie Gruzlewski to ask: 'Are you okay?' Bene responded 'no' to the Australian presenter while clutching her head before collapsing to the ground as Jason and fellow female contestants attempted to break her fall.

Natalie immediately called out, 'We need a medic!' as medical personnel swiftly arrived on set to provide assistance. Subsequently, Bene acknowledged the collapse, describing her on-screen tumble as 'the most embarrassing thing'.

In an interview with Woman's Day about the incident, Bene reassured viewers that nothing serious had occurred and there was no cause for concern. She remarked: 'Everyone was amazing – they grabbed water, sugar, everything straight away. It was just the embarrassment, really.'

The 31-year-old explained that the on-screen collapse was the result of months of accumulated pressure that viewers never witness. Bene continued: 'You see five, ten minutes on the show, but what you don't see is the literal months that went into even just getting on the plane to go to filming. As soon as I clocked that Jason had picked his five and I wasn't one of them, my brain was disappointed, but my body got that relief that we can stop running on adrenaline – and down I went.'
