Demi Moore's Beloved Chihuahua Pilaf Dies at Five

Actress Demi Moore is mourning the death of her beloved chihuahua, Pilaf, who has died at the age of five. The tiny dog was a constant companion to Moore, accompanying her to red-carpet events, fashion shows, and international travels.

Pilaf, who weighed just 1.5 pounds at birth, became a celebrity in her own right, known for her permanently protruding tongue. Moore explained that the dog's tongue hung out because she had lost the teeth that held it in place, calling it 'part of her charm'.

The chihuahua had not appeared on Moore's Instagram since March, prompting concern among followers. Pilaf's notable appearances included Royal Ascot in 2023, the opening night of Nicole Scherzinger's Broadway production of Sunset Boulevard, and television programmes such as The Graham Norton Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In 2024, Pilaf featured on the cover of Vogue's special dog-themed issue, 'Dogue'. Moore said of their bond: 'She was meant to be with me, and I was meant to be with her.'
