Glambot Director Apologises After Backlash Over Dismissive Emails to Client

Cole Walliser, the director behind the popular Glambot videos seen on award show red carpets, has issued an apology after resurfaced emails showed him being dismissive towards a potential client. In a video posted on Instagram, Walliser addressed a 2019 email exchange with Yinka Animashaun, who had inquired about hiring the Glambot for her wedding. Animashaun claimed Walliser suggested she might not be able to afford his services.

Walliser acknowledged the tone of his emails was “dismissive and curt” and took responsibility, noting that at the time he was overwhelmed as a solo operator. “I edited every single video. I answered every single email, and I was overwhelmed. But that is not an excuse,” he said. He also addressed accusations of racism, stating he is half Chinese and understands how his words could be perceived as biased.

Walliser added that anyone who felt dismissed on the red carpet was not intentionally slighted, citing the fast pace of award-show press lines. He concluded by reflecting on his personal growth over the past seven years and his commitment to treating everyone with respect. The apology comes after a clip of Jennifer Lopez posing for the Glambot went viral, with some criticising her minimal interaction; Walliser later defended her, citing the hectic red carpet environment.
