TOWIE's Jordan Brook reveals why he won't propose to Sophie Kasaei after meningitis battle
Jordan Brook explains no proposal to Sophie Kasaei after illness

Jordan Brook, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has revealed why he will not be proposing to Sophie Kasaei anytime soon. The 31-year-old reality TV personality recently battled meningitis, a health crisis that left him unable to walk or speak. After spending several weeks in the hospital and being blue-lighted, Jordan returned home in April. Although he and Sophie, known for her role on MTV's Geordie Shore, are expecting their first child together, marriage is not on the immediate agenda.

Health Battle Details

On the latest episode of the You Alright Hun? podcast, Jordan opened up about how the virus affected his body. "I had a limp down my right leg, which was a signal from my brain that hadn't healed," he explained. He also described experiencing extreme overstimulation in environments where he once thrived, such as being on stage singing. "I feel like a shell of myself, and I'm worried about my strength," he added.

Sophie's Support

Throughout the podcast, Jordan praised his partner, 36, for her unwavering support during his health battle while she was pregnant. "I don't know what I would've done without that girl," he said, expressing amazement at how Sophie managed while heavily pregnant.

Wedding Plans Delayed

Reflecting on marriage, Jordan revealed that Sophie is not keen on being proposed to while pregnant. Therefore, the couple will welcome their first child before considering tying the knot. "But if she falls pregnant again, she's never gonna want to get married while she's pregnant. She wants our kids close together, so it's circumstantial. That's naturally gonna end up being two, three, maybe four years until we get married," he explained.

Fear of Dying

Previously, Jordan shared his fear that he might die before his son was born. Speaking to The Sun, he said, "We have gone to hell and back trying to have a baby, and suddenly there was a real possibility I was going to die before my son was born. He saved my life because becoming a father was the one thing I held onto and never forgot – even when the virus was actively changing who I was."

Baby Name Struggles

Despite the imminent arrival, the couple has not yet chosen a name for their son. When asked by a fan, Sophie replied, "I think boy names are actually really, really hard. I do struggle with boy names. Me and Jordan have had a lot of discussions with boy names, we are struggling to come to an agreement. Obviously he was in hospital for two months. He still deals with a lot of brain injury, so I just don't want to really pressure him too much. But we are getting closer to our arrival and the conversation will be needed very soon. We are very very different with names so it's a bit of a hard one and it's a bit of a sore subject."

Personality Changes

Jordan noted that the condition altered his personality as his brain swelled, pressing against vital areas. His personality changed so drastically that he once shouted at a member of the public to turn down their phone because he could hear what they were listening to. After 22 days in the hospital, Jordan was discharged, but his recovery continues. He still suffers from muscle deterioration and fatigue due to his inability to walk for a period.
