Jackson Stefanovic, the 19-year-old son of Today show host Karl Stefanovic, has clarified that he and his younger siblings did not attend their father's wedding to fashion designer Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico on December 8.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Jackson said he missed the ceremony to look after his siblings Ava, 13, and River, 12, who did not want to go. 'I figure at their age they may not have an understanding of watching a parent get re-married,' he explained.
The revelation contradicts earlier claims by a spokesperson for Karl that the children were present. Jackson also denied reports that he and his girlfriend were asked to leave the reception, saying they left voluntarily because it was 's**t'.
Jackson described his new stepmother as 'nice' but declined to elaborate further. His mother, Cassandra Thorburn, had earlier told New Idea that Jackson assured her the children did not attend the ceremony.
