Katie Price has acknowledged her past errors in the trailer for her forthcoming documentary series, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide. The 48-year-old former glamour model is the focus of a new four-part Sky series that promises to deliver an archive-led retrospective of her life in the public eye.
Trailer Highlights
In the one-minute trailer, Price states: “I know I have hurt people deeply, and I know I’ve made mistakes.” The trailer then cuts to Gareth Gates, with whom Price had a fling in 2002 when he was 17 and she was 23. At the time, Price was six months pregnant and later sold the story of their brief relationship.
The trailer opens with a voice-over from her mother, Amy Price, describing her daughter as “quite shy as a little girl.” Price herself reflects: “I always felt misunderstood… no-one got to see the vulnerable side… never.” A voice-over adds: “Once she got that camera turned in front of her, she turned into a completely different person.”
Personal Testimonies
One contributor comments that Price “throws these little bombs and wants to see what they do.” Her mother shares: “We had to do something, otherwise we’d lose her.” Price’s ex-husband Alex Reid, to whom she was married for under a year from 2010, tells the camera that she “emasculated” him.
Price is then heard saying: “It’s very hard to explain me. I’ve got nothing to hide… I am what I am. It’s like watching a movie isn’t it.”
Documentary Details
Produced by Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse production company, the documentary is described as an “archive-led retrospective” by Sky. According to Sky: “It brings a documentary lens to Katie’s story, combining extraordinary unseen footage with first-time, candid testimony from those closest to Katie – family, friends, professional and personal relationships, and those who have entered her orbit over the past three decades. With new and revealing perspectives providing raw and first-time context to a turbulent life lived in the public eye, the series promises to go beyond the headlines to deliver a revealing portrait of one of Britain’s most enduring celebrity figures.”
Career and Personal Life
Price rose to fame as a Page 3 girl in 1996 under the alias Jordan. She later appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2004, where she met future husband Peter Andre. She has also featured on Celebrity Big Brother, Loose Women, and several of her own reality series and documentaries. Her private life has been heavily scrutinised, with Price being engaged nine times and married four times. She has openly discussed her numerous cosmetic surgeries, including breast enhancements and face lifts.
