Love Island star Laura Anderson has opened up about the true reason for her split from fellow contestant Paul Knops, dismissing reports that their relationship ended due to furious rows. The former air hostess revealed that the romance simply fizzled out after they left the ITV2 villa.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Anderson explained that the couple struggled to build a relationship outside the show. Knops went to the Burning Man festival in America for three weeks, during which they had no contact for a week due to a lack of phone signal. 'I was hoping that when he came back we’d spend more time together and build a proper relationship out of the villa. It didn’t happen,' she said.
Anderson also addressed the ultimate celebrity snub of unfollowing Knops on Instagram, stating she didn't want to see what he was up to. 'You have a little look now and again and it torments you!' she admitted. She laughed off photos of them arguing in the street, saying it looked worse than it was.
Like fellow star Dani Dyer, Anderson has left the Love Island group WhatsApp chat, describing it as 'too much' and preferring 'personal conversations' with individuals.
