Laura Anderson Shares Filter-Free Selfie Amid Airbrushing Ban Debate

Laura Anderson has continued to defy critics by sharing another makeup-free selfie, following a week of controversy over her appearance. The former Love Island star, 31, posted the image on Saturday after appearing on BBC Breakfast to discuss proposed legislation that would require celebrities to label digitally altered photos.

The Bill, introduced by Tory MP Dr Luke Evans, aims to address concerns that edited images on social media are contributing to a mental health crisis and creating unrealistic beauty standards. Anderson, who has admitted to editing her own photos, expressed support for the measure during the interview.

“At first, I wasn’t 100% sure but now, honestly, I am all for it,” she said. “I think it’s great that we have choices… I know if I could see ‘edited’, it would maybe stop me from editing as much. I do think we over edit right now.”

The reality star’s latest post comes after she faced online abuse following a photo with co-stars Jack Fincham and Dr Alex George. In response, she shared a makeup-free image earlier this week, writing: “I’ve purposefully put no filter on this… I wanted to come on here with no makeup on and I think I look fine, so thanks for the abuse.”

Anderson, who has been open about having Botox and lip fillers, has faced comments from users claiming they did not recognise her. She has previously stated that she planned these treatments before entering the Love Island villa in 2018.
