MasterChef star Andy Allen, 37, has announced he and his wife Alex are expecting their first child. The reality TV personality shared the news on social media on Monday night, posting a series of photos taken in a park.
One image shows the couple embracing as Andy gazes at Alex's baby bump, while another captures them smiling into the distance as Alex cradles her belly. Andy captioned the post: 'We've been cooking up something pretty special... Welcoming a little duckling in April!' He also shared a photo of Alex assembling a baby pram, adding: 'And so it begins.'
The announcement was met with congratulations from celebrity friends, including fellow chef Poh Ling Yeow, who wrote: 'Eeeeeeeep this is amazing news. Congrats you guys!!!!' Ava, daughter of Andy's late co-star Jock Zonfrillo, commented: 'Cats out of the bag! So excited for you both, and for another Allen.'
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Andy spoke about the importance of family: 'My family and my wife [are very important]. I'm hoping one day I'll have a family of my own with Alex, which will be nice.' He also revealed a quirky detail about his wedding band, saying: 'People would never know I wear a clip-on wedding ring.'
The couple married in a glamorous tent at Terrara House, with guests including TV presenter Magdalena Roze and her husband Darren Robertson, as well as Melissa Leong.
