Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has defended her commitment to the BBC show after being questioned about spending time away from her family in Germany. The 41-year-old dancer, who has a four-year-old daughter with husband Evgenij Voznyuk, travels from Germany to the UK to film the series.
In a tweet responding to an interview snippet, Mabuse wrote: "Let's enjoy the final !!!!! @bbcstrictly!! When they go low ? We go high." The South African-born judge appeared frustrated by the line of questioning, which asked whether she found it difficult to be separated from her family.
Mabuse, who joined the Strictly panel in 2019, stated in the interview: "I've worked hard all my life and I'll be on Strictly for as long as Strictly want me. When it says: 'Madame Mabuse, we're done with you,' I will walk away. You will not hear any scandal from me."
She added: "I've been on the German show for 16 years, then I came here too. That little girl from Africa would never have dreamed of the life she's living now." Fans rallied in support, with one commenting: "They wouldn't be insinuating that you're neglecting your family by working if you were a man!"
