Paul Mescal has opened up about his desire to become a father, revealing that he would love to have a family. The 29-year-old Gladiator actor, known for keeping his personal life private, admitted in a rare interview that he hopes to have children one day, though not immediately.
“I would love to have a family. I'm not like, 'I want them tomorrow,' but I would love to have kids,” Mescal told Rolling Stone. The Irish star, who has been dating singer Gracie Abrams for over a year, declined to discuss the specifics of their relationship, saying such details are “deeply precious” and he wants to protect them.
Mescal and Abrams, 26, were first linked in June 2024 and made their first public appearance together at the Gladiator II premiere after-party in November. They have since been spotted at events including Glastonbury. Engagement rumours surfaced earlier this year when Abrams was seen wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger during a performance in Melbourne, but the couple have not confirmed any plans to marry.
The couple also faced split speculation after a reported emotional exchange at a London restaurant, where onlookers claimed Abrams was crying and left mid-meal. However, neither party has commented on the incident.
