Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, 23, is set to reveal details about her relationship and acrimonious split from former One Direction singer Zayn Malik in the band's upcoming autobiography. The book, due out next month, will cover the 'highs and lows' of the group's five years together.
Edwards and Malik, also 23, ended their engagement shortly after she rushed to be by his side when he quit One Direction. The couple faced a rocky patch when an Australian waitress claimed she had bedded Malik while he was dating Edwards, but she stood by him. She also backed him when he was filmed with what appeared to be marijuana alongside bandmate Louis Tomlinson in Peru.
Edwards has rarely spoken about the heartbreak, but collapsed into tears on stage in the aftermath of the split last year. When asked about her wellbeing at the time, she said: 'Do you know what? I’m good. I just wake up every day and thank my lucky stars that I have these three girls.' Months later, Malik began dating US supermodel Gigi Hadid.
The autobiography will also document the breakups of bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson from members of dance troupe Diversity. The book is expected to celebrate the group's close friendship, featuring exclusive photos and style advice.
