Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, has tied the knot with NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a charming royal wedding held at All Saints' Church in Kemble, Cotswolds. The couple, who began dating in 2024, exchanged vows just 17 minutes from Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate.
Official Wedding Photos Released
The newlyweds have released their first official wedding photos, captured by photographer Mark Nicholson. In the images, Phillips, 48, beams alongside his bride, Sperling, 45, who looks radiant in an Emilia Wickstead wedding dress paired with a tiara from Pragnell. The couple is seen bursting with joy as they take their first steps together as a married couple outside the church.
Royal Guests in Attendance
The ceremony was attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as Zara and Mike Tindall with their daughters. King Charles and Queen Camilla also graced the occasion, arriving to cheers from the public. The bride was accompanied by three bridesmaids: Phillips's daughters Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, and Sperling's teenage daughter Georgina.
Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice arrived despite recent controversies involving their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond noted their bravery, stating they were determined to keep a low profile and not draw attention from the bride and groom.
A Smaller Affair
The guest list was notably smaller than other royal weddings, as both Phillips and Sperling have previous marriages. Phillips was married to Autumn Kelly until their split in 2021, and Sperling separated from Antonio St. John Sperling. The couple opted for an intimate celebration.
While Phillips is close to Prince Harry, reports indicate Harry was not invited due to a loss of contact over several years. A friend close to the couple explained that they have simply lost touch.
Despite rainy weather, senior royals were all smiles. Jennie Bond described the day as a much-needed joyful occasion for the family, showcasing unity amid recent damaging headlines.
