Raphinha's wife hits back at World Cup winner's claims of family and financial problems
Raphinha's wife responds to Vampeta's allegations

Natalia Rodrigues Belloli, the wife of Barcelona winger Raphinha, has publicly responded to allegations made by former Brazil World Cup winner Vampeta, who claimed the player is facing serious family and financial problems that could lead to a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

Vampeta's podcast claims

Speaking on the Red Cast podcast, Vampeta, a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning squad, stated: “Raphinha is facing serious family and financial problems. He’s praying he can join Al Hilal; he’s having a really tough time. He is counting on joining Al Hilal to turn things around.”

The comments quickly drew a response from Raphinha's camp. His cousin, Padilha, wrote on social media: “You’ll have to explain these lies, my friend.”

Belloli's statement

Belloli then issued a lengthy statement on social media, appearing to address Vampeta directly without naming him. She wrote: “True influence isn't about pointing out mistakes or exposing someone to gain attention. True power lies in inspiring, teaching, welcoming, and promoting values that contribute to a better society.

“Influencing for good means using visibility to spread empathy, encourage dialogue, support positive causes, and show that it's possible to disagree without disrespecting. May every person who has influence, whether for hundreds or millions of followers, recognise the privilege and responsibility they have received. After all, words have power, and the best use of that power is to promote good, respect, and hope.

“We are going beyond the limits of ignorance. Don't teach your child to smile at anyone's pain. If your soul cannot be malleable and your brain cannot accept evolution, at least help the next generation to be better.

“I know the man behind the athlete. I know his character, his humility, his discipline, and the love he has for football and for Brazil. I know the sleepless nights, the demands he places on himself, and the weight he carries every time he steps onto the field representing millions of people, and we are grateful, we dream of this!

“You see a player. I see a human being. I am so proud of you, my love, because you are tireless and unstoppable. And you will return like a phoenix, as you always have.

“Because those who love and admire you respect your journey and recognise all the lives that have been touched and blessed by the sweat of your labour. Because there is bread for everyone, it just needs to be divided.”

Raphinha's injury and recovery

Raphinha is currently recovering from a muscle injury sustained during Brazil's first match of the World Cup against Haiti. In an interview with Domingao com Huck, Belloli described the emotional impact of the injury: “Honestly, it was one of the first times I was speechless. He was crying, and so was I. We spoke on the phone; the next day he underwent medical tests and came home for a while, where we were able to talk about the situation.

“Now he’s doing well, strong and sure of his purpose. That’s what matters: maintaining the right mindset and believing that better days are coming.”
