Scarlett Thomas Signs Record Deal, Follows One Direction Path

In a significant career development that has filled her family with immense pride, Scarlett Thomas, the 17-year-old daughter of Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, has secured a prestigious music record deal. The talented teenager is now preparing to travel to Nashville, Tennessee, to collaborate with renowned songwriter and producer Julien Bunetta, who previously worked on One Direction's acclaimed Take Me Home album.

A Father's Joy and a Daughter's Dream

Ryan Thomas, 41, expressed his overwhelming excitement and pride during a recent episode of his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Brothers. He described the moment as "unbelievable," revealing that Scarlett signed with a record label owned by brothers in the United States. The connection to Julien Bunetta, whom Ryan hailed as "probably the biggest thing right now in the music industry," marks a pivotal step in Scarlett's burgeoning career.

"Scarlett is now next month flying out to his house to record in show," Ryan explained. "And this is in Nashville. In Nashville, she's staying there for a week." He conveyed his daughter's own astonishment, quoting her as saying, "Dad I like about pinch myself, like, what is going on."

Following in Famous Footsteps

Julien Bunetta's impressive portfolio includes not only his work with One Direction but also collaborations with other major artists like Sabrina Carpenter. This association places Scarlett in a promising position to develop her musical talents alongside some of the industry's most influential figures. Ryan emphasised the significance of the location, noting, "It's just crazy to think that she's going to be in that studio in Nashville, where music is basically originating from, where all the creative music people live."

The proud father added, "She's going to be in and around it, just living and breathing and potentially like a song that we're all going to hear on the radio one day. Like, how proud are we as a family?"

A Moment of Serendipity and Celebration

Earlier this month, Ryan took to Instagram to share the news, declaring it "one of the best days of my life." He wrote, "Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever." The actor also recounted a touching coincidence: Scarlett realised they were at the same restaurant where, five years prior, she had stood on a chair singing "A Million Dreams" in front of her family. Ryan saw this as a sign that "the stars were all aligned," symbolising the fulfilment of her long-held aspirations.

Scarlett's Own Announcement

Scarlett, who portrays Izzy Charles in the revived series Waterloo Road, independently announced her career move on social media. She posted a clip of herself signing the contract in a restaurant, accompanied by a heartfelt caption. "Wow what an experience I have had so far and what an experience I’m about to have," she wrote. "I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity. Today was a life changing moment for me, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes but I can now finally share it with you all. I can’t wait for what this year brings, hopefully some amazing music xxx."

This development marks a significant transition for Scarlett, balancing her acting role with a promising venture into the music industry. As she embarks on this journey to Nashville, the support from her family and the guidance of an experienced producer like Julien Bunetta set the stage for what could be a remarkable chapter in her professional life.
