Beverley George, the Liverpool singer known by her stage name Scouse Pink, has died at the age of 52 after a four-year fight against cancer. She passed away on Tuesday morning (February 24) surrounded by her husband Paul and close family.
Her family announced the news on Facebook, with Wayne Fogg describing her as 'a force of nature' who 'gained her angel wings' at 9.20am. He wrote: 'She fought a very tough battle over the last four years but sadly took her last breath this morning.'
The Simms Cross pub in Widnes, where Beverley had been a regular performer for three years, paid tribute to their 'dear friend and entertainer'. Staff said they were 'absolutely heartbroken' and described her as 'a beautiful person with a heart of gold'.
Fans also shared their condolences on social media, with one writing: 'So sad, great singer and an all around great person. R.I.P you will be missed.' Another added: 'Thinking of Paul and the children at this time. She fought so hard.'
Funeral details are expected to be announced in due course.
