Selena Gomez's Kidney Donor Francia Raisa Breaks Silence on Wedding Snub Rumours

Francia Raisa, who donated a kidney to Selena Gomez in 2017, has spoken out about rumours of a feud between the two, dismissing them as 'nonsense' and 'rumours'. In a new interview, the 37-year-old actress addressed reports that she did not attend Gomez's wedding to Benny Blanco last weekend, which was attended by numerous A-listers including Taylor Swift, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Ed Sheeran.

Raisa wished Gomez well in Spanish, saying: 'I know she's getting married, and I'm very happy for her. And look... she has a life and she is already a billionaire and I am grateful that I could do that for her.' She emphasised that organ donation is about saving a life, not creating a special bond, comparing it to donating a dollar to charity without expecting updates.

When asked about reports that she was angry with Gomez for not treating her body properly after the donation, Raisa responded forcefully: 'Well, right now what you are asking me is nonsense that has been in the media, and there are too many rumours. I've never said anything.' She added that neither she nor Gomez are discussing the matter, but 'one day, maybe we will address it.'

Raisa donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017 after the singer was diagnosed with lupus. In a 2018 interview, Raisa revealed that both she and Gomez experienced depression after the procedure, which nearly killed Gomez when an artery burst during surgery. Raisa recalled a social worker's warning that the recipient would recover faster than the donor, calling the experience 'hard'.
