Susan Boyle's Café Manager Praises Her Humble Gesture

A café manager who encountered Susan Boyle has described the beloved singer as "lovely", saying she was "happy" to make a small gesture. The Scottish star has been keeping herself busy of late, partnering with ice cream brand Cornetto and Irn-Bru for a pair of advertising campaigns and undergoing a striking makeover, yet she appears to be remaining firmly grounded.

Susan Boyle's Rise to Fame

Susan shot to stardom following her unforgettable 2009 Britain's Got Talent audition, where she delivered a stunning rendition of the Les Misérables classic I Dreamed a Dream, and has since sold an impressive 25 million records worldwide. Despite reportedly amassing a fortune of £30 million, Susan recently purchased a two-bedroom bungalow in Larbert for a modest £245,000. She shares the home with her two cats, Ms Celine and Mr Beau.

Local Café Encounters

When it comes to dining out, Susan is a familiar face at her local café. Lisa Harkness, manager of LJ's, where the star enjoys tea and cake, told The Mail: "She came in here the first time with her PA Geraldine." She went on to say: "She's lovely, but she seems pretty shy. She looks really well, though. She was so nice and was happy to get a picture with me outside the shop."

Susan is also a "regular" at Glenbervie Golf Club, where she regularly enjoys breakfast. A member of staff revealed: "Susan is a regular in here. She's in here a lot for breakfast. She likes her routines and she knows us in here now."

Health Update After Stroke

In other news, Susan, who comes from Blackburn in West Lothian, has revealed that her singing voice "still needs some work" while discussing her recovery following a stroke. Speaking to The Sun, she described how she has been receiving speech therapy and is taking "wee baby steps" after the concerning health scare. Nevertheless, Susan remains hopeful that her singing voice will regain its previous strength.

Susan said: "It feels surreal to be here now. I never thought I would be able to come this far. I've had a lot of encouragement, and the public have been so loving to me. I have had a lot of speech therapy. It was difficult at first, but after the first few weeks, my voice slowly started to come back. I have been having a lot of vocal lessons, too, for my singing. It still needs some work, but I am sure my singing voice will come back. I am taking wee baby steps. If you go too fast, too soon, you go down a hole. It took a while for my confidence to come back with my music. But I am getting there. Slowly."
