Yazmin Oukhellou has spoken about her ongoing grief and recovery following the death of her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean in a car crash in Turkey in July. The 28-year-old TOWIE star took to Instagram to share her emotional journey, revealing that she felt her 'pain would never end' after the tragedy.
The couple's hired Mercedes plunged 30ft into a ditch on July 3, killing 33-year-old Jake McLean at the scene. Yazmin suffered serious injuries and had to break her arm to free herself from the wreckage before calling for help. She later underwent surgery in a Turkish hospital.
In her post, Yazmin emphasised the importance of seeking professional help and relying on family for support. She shared a video with a voiceover of a woman crying, 'I can't do this anymore,' and wrote: 'Trust me when I say I've been here. I've felt this pain. I thought it would never end. I still have days where I feel so low.'
She added: 'I've come away to spend quality time with my parents because God showed me how quickly life could be taken and how much I need to appreciate my second chance.' Yazmin urged others in similar situations to speak to someone, reminding them that feelings are temporary and they will get through it.
The star did not attend Jake's funeral in Essex last month, with reports suggesting she was banned by his family. She previously paid tribute to him, saying: 'I am so grateful for our memories and the special time that Jake and I shared. I’ve not stopped thinking about him and I’ll miss him always.'
