Calvin Klein's Boyfriend Buys $739,000 House Cash Amid Stumble Controversy

Kevin Baker, the 37-year-old boyfriend of 83-year-old fashion designer Calvin Klein, purchased a $739,000 house in Spokane, Washington, in December 2021 without a mortgage, despite having no known job. The four-bedroom, 2,434-square-foot newly built home is now worth about $800,000 and is occupied by Baker's father Paul, 65, and twin brother Joel.

The purchase comes as scrutiny intensifies over the couple's extreme age-gap relationship, following a recent incident where Klein stumbled at a New York City art gallery event and Baker made no effort to help. Videos from the event showed Baker failing to assist or even look concerned as the octogenarian designer was confused by camera flashes.

Baker's mother Debbie, 63, told the Daily Mail she knows nothing about her son's decade-long romance with Klein. The couple have kept their relationship private and never publicly indicated discord, but photos from 2021 show Baker scowling and folding his arms during a lunch date in West Hollywood.

Baker also bought a $900,000 one-bedroom condo on New York's Upper West Side in March 2025, far below Klein's ultra-luxurious standard. Klein owns hundreds of millions in property across the US. How Baker acquired cash for both homes remains unclear; he previously worked as a model but had no high-profile jobs.

Baker's family has financial struggles: his father Paul, a real estate appraiser, faced a humiliating recorded phone call in 2018 over a botched valuation, and both family homes were foreclosed after multiple refinances. Baker's grandmother Anadee Snyder, 81, is two years younger than Klein.
