Demi Lovato is taking a well-deserved break before embarking on her Neon Lights tour, sharing glimpses of her tropical getaway on Instagram and Twitter. The 21-year-old former X Factor judge posted a photo of herself lounging on a golden beach in a black bandeau bikini, her face shielded by tinted sunglasses as she smiles up at the sun.
In the caption, Lovato wrote: '2014... feeling healthy, feeling rested.. Y'all ain't ready!!!! #NEONLIGHTSTOUR.' The 'rested' and 'healthy' descriptions are evident from her taut abs and relaxed demeanour.
Another close-up selfie shows Lovato with her colour-streaked hair tied back in a ponytail, a curling strand blown across her forehead. She captioned it: 'Too much swimming = silver hair.... And I don't hate it....'
The singer also shared a picture of her surroundings, featuring a white beach, palm trees, and blue-green ocean. The vacation comes after Lovato faced criticism from fans for skipping the 2014 People's Choice Awards, to which she responded on Twitter: 'I'm not at the PCA's because as I have stated before, I'm taking as much time off this month as possible.'
Lovato quit The X Factor after two seasons to focus on her music career. Her Neon Lights tour kicks off on February 9 in Vancouver, with Cher Lloyd, Fifth Harmony, and Little Mix as opening acts.
