Meghan Markle has been advised to distance her personal brand from the Royal Family to showcase her true identity, according to a PR expert. The Duchess of Sussex recently launched American Riviera Orchard, a new business featuring items close to her heart, alongside a forthcoming cookery show for Netflix.
Hayley Knight, a public relations specialist, suggested that Meghan should focus on women's rights activism and content creation to ensure the success of her venture. Speaking to The Express, Knight said: 'Meghan, as a mother, no one sees this side very much, whilst keeping family matters out of the press. I feel that a strategy around these areas would soften the edges of her reputation and would pull out parts of the real Meghan.'
Knight added: 'I'd almost separate the Meghan brand from the Meghan royal and show her for who she is and what she does away from the tabloids.' The advice comes amid ongoing tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, which have been publicly aired in their Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry's memoir Spare.
In the documentary, Harry criticised his brother Prince William and father King Charles, detailing a heated argument during the Sandringham summit. He also alleged that palace officials 'lied to protect my brother'. His memoir further revealed personal conflicts, including a physical altercation with William over comments about Meghan.
