Pharrell Williams has been named as the new Men's Creative Director at Louis Vuitton, the fashion house announced. The 49-year-old musician and entrepreneur takes over the role previously held by Virgil Abloh, who died in November 2021.
Williams, known for his music career, has a long history with the brand, having collaborated with Louis Vuitton in 2004 and 2008. His first collection for the label will debut during Men's Fashion Week in Paris in June.
Louis Vuitton's Chairman and CEO, Pietro Beccari, said: 'I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home... His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.'
Williams has previously launched streetwear label Billionaire Boys Club and shoe brand Ice Cream, and has collaborated with major fashion houses including Chanel and Adidas. He received the Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2015.
