Disney+ drama Rivals season two, part one has barely drawn to a close, yet there is already encouraging news for devoted followers of the show. The second series of the acclaimed Disney+ adaptation, based on Jilly Cooper's much-loved novel, was divided into two halves, with the opening instalment arriving on 16 May.
Viewers have now worked their way through the initial six episodes, with part one concluding on a nail-biting cliffhanger after it appeared that one Rutshire resident met their end during the ferocious storm that descended upon the picturesque Cotswolds village. The second series comprises 12 episodes in total, and fans are eagerly anticipating part two. Here is everything we currently know.
When will Rivals season 2 episode 7 be released?
Disney+ has announced that Rivals season two, episode seven will arrive in November, when part two makes its eagerly awaited comeback. However, no firm premiere date has been confirmed beyond this, with audiences expected to receive further details closer to the launch. Viewers can look forward to six additional drama-laden episodes when Rivals returns to screens.
A brief teaser from the streaming service reads: "Following a shocking turn of events in the sixth episode, the residents of Rutshire are rocked by tragedy, scandal and betrayal as the battle between Venturer and Corinium reaches breaking point."
Disney+ also released a short preview for the second batch of episodes, which sees the rivalry between Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and Declan O'Hara (Aidan Turner) intensify in their battle for the Cotswolds crown. Meanwhile, Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) finds himself grappling with his own inner turmoil.
Viewers can anticipate decadent soirées, Bonfire Night mayhem and the Hampshire Hunt Ball. A tumultuous Christmas also awaits as extramarital relationships come to light, partnerships crumble and competitions grow fiercer. Amidst the upheaval surrounding the franchise battle, Taggie O'Hara (Bella Maclean) faces a choice about following her emotions, while others reckon with the ramifications of their aspirations, influence and concealed truths.
The second half of season two will welcome fresh faces, including Believe Me and Detectorists actress Rachael Stirling as Araminta Pemberton, the younger sibling of Lady Monica Baddingham (Claire Rushbrook). Additionally, Bridgerton and The Man in the High Castle actor Rupert Evans takes on the role of headmaster David Hawkley. Finally, Big Little Lies star Santiago Cabrera portrays Argentinian polo legend Alejandro Mendoza.
Rivals season 2, part 2 will premiere on Disney+ in November.
