ITV has announced a new spin-off of its popular quiz show The Chase, titled The Chase Around the World. The six-part series will see Bradley Walsh return as host, alongside the familiar Chasers, but with a travel-based twist.
Six pairs of contestants will travel the globe, tracking down the Chasers who are hiding in undisclosed locations. Each episode, teams arrive at a new location and must solve puzzles to pinpoint the Chasers' whereabouts. The last team to reach a Chaser's hiding place faces a head-to-head quiz to stay in the competition.
At the end of the series, the remaining teams compete in a final knowledge game for a life-changing cash prize. The format draws comparisons to BBC's Race Across the World and Prime Video's 007: Road to a Million.
Bradley Walsh said: 'This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants' knowledge like never before. The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them ply their trade in some superb secret locations.'
The show is produced by ITV Studios' new label, Bright Entertainment, with managing director Lily Wilson adding: 'What better way to launch Bright Entertainment — not only with the news of our inaugural commission, but a reimagining of one of the most successful television quiz formats.'
The Chase Around the World will air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX later this year.
