Blazin' Squad Members' Surprising Career Changes Revealed
Blazin' Squad Members' Surprising Career Changes Revealed

Blazin' Squad, the 10-strong hip-hop group that shot to fame in the early 2000s with six top 10 hits including a cover of Crossroads, have largely moved on from music. The band released their debut album In The Beginning in 2002 and Now Or Never the following year, but poor sales ended their record deal. By 2005, the group fractured, with some members signing separate deals and others relaunching as a four-piece. A reunion in 2009 produced a Greatest Hits album, but most members have since pursued diverse careers.

Chris McKeckney, known as Melo-D, still performs at reunion gigs but has also worked as a window fitter. He founded Stronghold Glazing Ltd in January 2017, but the company was dissolved by January 2018. He now works as a Field Services Engineer for Virgin Media since February 2017.

Mustafa Omer (Strider) and James Murray (Flava) formed the songwriting duo Mojam, achieving major success. They co-wrote Sam Smith and Naughty Boy's hit La La La, which became the sixth best-selling single in the UK in 2013 and charted in the US. They have also worked with Emeli Sandé, Leona Lewis, and Professor Green.

Sam Foulkes (Spike-E) still promotes his Blazin' Squad affiliation on social media and performs with former bandmates. However, his day job shifted to the green energy sector. He worked as a Document Controller for MTT Limited from 2014 to 2016, then became a Document Control Manager at Net Zero carbon company Vital Energi Utilities Ltd in 2016.

Marcel Somerville (Rocky B) and James McKenzie (Kenzie) are the most recognisable members, having ventured into reality TV. Other members have taken varied paths, from songwriting to technical roles, reflecting the band's diverse post-fame trajectories.
