New Mango Jaffa Cakes Spotted in Home Bargains

McVitie's has launched a new mango-flavoured Jaffa Cake, now available at Home Bargains and other major UK supermarkets. The tropical twist on the classic treat features a mango-flavoured jelly centre, replacing the traditional orange filling, while retaining the signature sponge base and dark chocolate topping.

The new flavour was first spotted by a shopper on a foodie social media page, who shared a photo of the product in a Home Bargains store. The post quickly attracted comments from fans eager to try them, with one describing them as "absolutely banging". However, some critics found the mango flavour lacking, with one reviewer calling them "underwhelming".

McVitie's confirmed that the mango Jaffa Cakes hit shelves on 20 April. They are now widely available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Home Bargains, priced at £1.50 for a 10-pack. This is the latest in a series of limited-edition flavours, following recent releases such as hot honey, cherry, and lemon.

The original Jaffa Cake, first launched in 1927, remains a British tea-time staple. Its classification as a cake rather than a biscuit was famously upheld by a UK VAT tribunal in the 1990s, a decision that has become part of British popular culture.
