Casualty viewers were left devastated on Saturday evening (August 24) as the BBC drama aired the sudden death of Jamie Cleveland (Ryan Hawley). The episode saw Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) confront his former mentor about childhood sexual abuse moments before Jamie died.
In the latest episode, Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) and the emergency team responded to a car crash where a vehicle had plunged down a steep gorge. The driver, later identified as Jamie, was found with a pulse but later died in the ED despite efforts to save him.
Cam, who had previously admitted to being abused by Jamie, confronted him alone in the emergency room. Jamie revealed that Bobby, another former victim, had forced him off the road. Cam demanded answers about the abuse, but Jamie remained silent, leaving Cam devastated.
After Jamie's heart stopped and he could not be revived, viewers took to X to express their heartbreak. One wrote: 'Cams never going to get the justice he deserves now #Casualty,' while another added: 'Omg he has died! #Casualty.' A third commented: 'Cam is gonna go off the rails...'
Casualty airs on BBC One on Saturdays at 9pm and is available on iPlayer.
