Coronation Street actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson has joined the cast of the Sky Max comedy series Brassic for its upcoming fifth season. The star, known for playing Nicky Wheatley on the ITV soap, will portray a character named Andrea.
Hart-Simpson shared the news on Instagram with a photo of herself outside a trailer labelled 'Andrea', captioning it: 'Next up: Brassic – Season 5 – Andrea. Hey babes.' Her Corrie co-stars were quick to congratulate her, including Paddy Bever, Mollie Gallagher, Charlotte Jordan and Tanisha Grey.
Brassic follows the life of protagonist Vinny O'Neill and his friends in the fictional town of Hawley. The show already features former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan, who played Tina McIntyre on the cobbles.
Hart-Simpson's character Nicky appeared on and off in Coronation Street over the past two years. She befriended Daniel Osbourne after his wife Sinead's death and later returned to pursue a teaching career, but left after Daniel rejected her. Her final appearance came earlier this year when Peter Barlow took her home from the police station.
