EastEnders viewers were left amused on Thursday night after spotting a glaring spelling mistake on a business card belonging to police officer Jack Branning. The character, played by Scott Maslen, handed the card to Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basaula) during a tense interaction, but instead of reading 'Metropolitan Police', the card mistakenly read 'Metroplitan Police'.
Fans took to Twitter to share screenshots of the error, with one user posting laughing emojis and writing: 'Detective Inspector Jack Branning, Metroplitan Police #EastEnders.' Another joked: 'Love seeing #JackBranning's business card. #EastEnders.'
This is not the first time the soap has suffered a gaffe; earlier, Stuart Highway managed to beep his car horn despite being stuck inside after the battery died during his wedding to Rainie Cross. The blunders come amid reports that EastEnders stars are unhappy over extended breaks and pay losses due to the coronavirus pandemic, though a spokesperson denied any rotation system is in place.
