EastEnders viewers may finally meet George Knight's mystery son, as actress Molly Rainford, who plays his daughter Anna, has teased the character's potential arrival. The secret son was first mentioned last June when George revealed to Phil Mitchell that he had a son who "goes off the rails" and whom he rarely sees. Since then, the character has not been referenced again, leaving fans curious about his identity and backstory.
In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Rainford expressed her excitement at the prospect of her on-screen brother appearing in Walford. "Yes absolutely, I'd love that," she said. "I mean what EastEnders family doesn't have secret siblings? I feel like there's siblings from both sides and people we haven't met yet too, so I'd be really excited if he or any of them came into the show."
The tease comes amid recent revelations about George's own past. The character, played by Colin Salmon, recently discovered the truth about his adoption: his biological father, Henry, was brutally murdered by his adoptive father, Eddie Knight, to prevent him from taking George away. The DNA bombshell has rocked the Knight family, and the introduction of George's son could further explore these familial dynamics.
Rainford also called for the return of Cindy Jr, George's stepdaughter from his ex-wife Cindy Beale, who recently learned her mother is still alive. "Yeah I'd love for her to return, absolutely. I feel like she must be around Anna and Gina's age too so that would be good!" she said. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
