EastEnders viewers are convinced that newcomer Jasmine Fisher is hiding her true identity, following a series of suspicious scenes on the BBC soap. The character, played by Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness, arrived in Walford in September and has already sparked speculation with her evasive behaviour.
In the latest episode, Jasmine avoided questions about her background from Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) by plying him with drinks and kissing him. She also failed to provide her bank details or address to Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), claiming owner Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) had them, before rushing off to catch a bus.
Fans took to social media to share their theories, with many suggesting Jasmine is using a false name. One viewer wrote: 'We know nothing about Jasmine, the way she isn’t giving any of her details to Elaine... is her name even Jasmine?' Another added: 'I'm starting to wonder whether Jasmine is using a fake name.'
Some fans believe Jasmine may be working undercover for The Fords, a family linked to Cindy's past, while others think she could be the secret daughter of Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan). Zoe gave birth to twins in 2006, leaving one behind and the other believed to have died. One fan commented: 'I've stood by the Jasmine is Zoe's daughter theory from the moment she arrived.'
Elaine and Oscar have vowed to uncover the truth, setting the stage for a dramatic reveal. EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
