Former EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison, 60, has taken to Instagram to namecheck several ITV shows in an apparent bid to land new television work, after revealing she has been left penniless.
In a post on Tuesday, Fergison wrote: 'My little story of the day... just putting all good vibes out there folks.' She referenced programmes including This Morning, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Big Brother, MasterChef, Mastermind, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Pointless, The Weakest Link, Casualty, The Chase, The One Show, The Voice, Strictly Come Dancing, University Challenge, A Place in the Sun, Benidorm, and The Great British Bake Off.
The actress, who played Heather Trott on EastEnders from 2005 to 2012, detailed in her autobiography Behind The Scenes that she was left broke after her accountant failed to pay HMRC for five years. She wrote: 'Everything I had built, saved and worked for was gone.'
Fergison now lives in Blackpool with her second husband Al-Jermoni, a Moroccan national who faced visa issues that delayed his move to the UK for nine years. She told OK! magazine: 'We try to keep our business private but yes financially it can be a strain to get these visas.'
Earlier this year, she admitted to The Sun that she is 'not comfortable' financially and is 'just surviving', but added: 'I'll never give in. I want to keep singing. If people criticise me for singing in small restaurants, so be it.'
