EastEnders' Tony Clay Teases Love Triangle and Surprise Returns as Callum Faces Jonno's Funeral

EastEnders star Tony Clay has revealed that his character Callum Highway is about to face an explosive love triangle and two surprise returns as he navigates the fallout from his father Jonno's sudden death. The actor, who plays the Walford favourite, teased fiery backlash for Callum as he confronts his complex emotions over Jonno's passing.

Callum is grieving not the man Jonno was, but what might have been, after his father died from a heart attack following a confrontation with Eve Unwin. In his final moments, Jonno told Johnny Carter he was ashamed of Callum, a secret Johnny is keeping. As Callum prepares for the funeral, his personal life is equally turbulent: he has been having an affair with Johnny behind his husband Ben Mitchell's back.

After Kathy Beale caught Callum and Johnny kissing, the Mitchells closed ranks, with Phil, Kathy, Billy, Honey, Ian and Harvey confronting Callum. But Callum stood his ground, arguing that none of them are perfect. He then made a bold move by taking Johnny to Jonno's funeral, a decision that could seal his break from the Mitchells and Ben once and for all.

Amid the chaos, Callum receives a pleasant surprise when his brother Stuart returns to support him. But the real shock comes when Ben returns from the US, determined to stand by Callum in his time of grief. Tony Clay said: 'Ben's arrival derails his whole plan, and Callum is suddenly thrown into a very different world. Now it's not clear if he's going to do what he'd planned and go for Johnny or if seeing Ben is going to change everything.'
